Gavin Green climbs up to 42nd place in DP World Tour Rankings with runner-up finish at Portugal Masters

Malaysian number one Gavin Green has climbed up 34 spots on the DP World Tour Rankings to 42nd place, following his runner-up finish in the Portugal Masters at Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course in Vilamoura.
Green carded rounds of 64, 65, 64 and 64 to finish with an impressive total of 27-under-par 257, three shots behind wire-to-wire victor Jordan Smith of England. The Malaysian's final day scorecard featured six birdies, an eagle and a single bogey.
Looking for his first DP World Tour victory, Green went head-to-head with the Englishman and both golfers impressed with some magnificent shot-making. Smith's closing 63 in the end proved enough to earn him his second DP World Tour title.
Green’s runner-up finish earned him a cheque for €220,525.80 and took his season earnings to €637,616.94. The 28-year-old is also well-placed to earn a spot in the season-ending DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates in two weeks' time, which will feature the top 50 players in the rankings.
